This is one of the easy dishes to make for parties. Whether it’s a birthday party at home, Christmas party at school or work, or any reason to celebrate and feast, in case you’d like to try and make a delicious dish of Maja Blanca to take to that party, here’s a recipe to help you out.

MAJA BLANCA
4 cups coconut milk
3/4 cup cornstarch
1 can (397g) condensed milk
3/4 cup fresh milk
3/4 cup sugar
1 can (420g) sweet corn kernels
5 tbsp toasted grated coconut (optional)
Place coconut milk in a cooking pot and bring to a boil. Add sugar, condensed milk, and sweet corn kernels. Stir until all ingredients are evenly distributed. Simmer for about 8 minutes.
Combine fresh milk and cornflour. Whisk until the cornflour is diluted. Add this mixture into the coconut milk mixture. Stir thoroughly. Cook until mixture becomes very thick, stirring regularly to avoid burning parts of it.
When desired consistency is reached, pour the mixture in a serving tray. Flatten the top using a spatula. Allow to cool, then refrigerate for at least an hour.
Garnish with toasted grated coconut, if desired. Slice and serve cold.
